Rebranding of a regional economic development organization based in San Marcos, TX to reflect their new positioning.
The brief.
The Greater San Marcos Partnership (GSMP) is a non-profit regional organization, located in Central Texas, that focuses on economic development endeavors in the heart of the Austin – San Antonio Innovation Corridor.
Recognizing the need for a more current design, their brand and collateral materials needed to look consistently appealing and be aspirational; having a sense of elegance and high professionalism appropriate for the economic development industry.
The design solution.
By using elements from their old logo, combined with sans-serif fonts and flattening the design, their new brand identity resulted in a modernized creation. This then created the immediate desire to have all of their collateral match the minimalist, modern feel.
Components of their new brand identity included a library of logo orientations, brand style guidelines, stationary system, marketing collateral (i.e., PowerPoint template, website, an e-newsletter, etc.), and interior design/signage consultation.
GSMP's revamped website now features user-friendly navigation, a simple and professional design, and a responsive layout that's also mobile compatible – which was a critical component to have given that their target audiences (site selection consultants, corporate decision-makers, current investors, and internal stakeholders) are typically conducting business via their mobile devices.
This new brand identity, along with a unique combination of public relations, social media, signature events and trade shows, provided GSMP with the platform to tell a powerful story about the region and its unique value proposition.
